Public Education & Safety

The Plymouth Fire-Rescue recognizes the importance of public education programs directed towards all aspects of safety covering many topics that apply to all ages, home or business, from cooking safety, and car seats to home escape plans.  The goal of public education is to reduce risk and increase the chances of survival of the public in emergency situations.  We also recognize as the public becomes safer our jobs as emergency responders become less dangerous.  Plymouth Fire-Rescue offers public education to schools, businesses, and individuals. A special emphasis on public education occurs during Fire Prevention Week.  This week-long commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8, 1871, has been sponsored by the NFPA since 1922.  Opportunities for public education exist in the form of:

  • Station tours
  • Fire prevention presentations
  • Fire extinguisher training
  • Car seat inspections

For questions or to learn more about our public education opportunities, please send an email or call during business hours.  Check out the photo gallery of past events below to learn more.
